I am pleased to announce that I will be live painting at the Economy Shoe Shop for New Year’s Eve. This will be my last event of 2009, and I want to see the year off with a bang. I’ll be wearing a new Christmas dress.

You have got to see this venue. From the perspective of an artist who shows up at bars to paint, I am enthusiastic about approaching the challenges of capturing this dynamic space. This bar and cafe is full of little spaces where a few people could sit around and have cozy conversations. It’s an artist, film and musician hot spot in the heart of downtown Halifax.
Even the history surrounding the name is quaint and charming. It’s called the Economy Shoe Shop because they found a sign that read as such and decided to run with it – start a cafe & bar called the Economy Shoe Shop. How odd!! I love it!
I sincerely hope fellow Haligonians will join me at the Shoe Shop for New Year’s. There’s no cover (it’s free to get in, folks!) there will be live music… (Ben Caplan Band) and even a four course meal with a bottle of wine for $65 if that tickles your fancy…though the regular menu is available as well. Cheers.
